Katherine A. Willyard is a partner of Sanders Willyard LLP. She has experience advising clients regarding small business and oil and gas transactions, providing litigation support for business disputes, with a focus on oil and gas law.

Ms. Willyard is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is licensed to practice law in Texas, North Dakota and Colorado.

Ms. Willyard's practice has consisted of advising clients in a wide range of transactional matters, preparation of title opinions, and litigation support. She has negotiated and drafted participation agreements, purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, farm-in and farm-out agreements, surface use or site access agreements, assignments, leases, easements and other agreements incidental to the transaction. She has advised clients regarding business organization, prepared the formation documents, and provided ongoing general counsel. She has represented lenders and borrowers on all types of oil and gas financing transactions, including lien and security issues dealing with oil and gas properties. She has experience in the preparation and of oil and gas title opinions, including Drilling, Division Order, Supplemental and Lease Acquisition Title Opinions, and related documentation to cure title defects. She has experience providing litigation support in oil and gas, and other commercial disputes.

Ms. Willyard also holds an International Commercial Arbitration Certificate from the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center.

Kate lives with her husband and four children in Walnut Bend, on the west side of Houston. In her spare time, Kate enjoys running and has run five marathons and a handful of half-marathons.
